ART, GALLERY
Art Paris was created in 1999 by a group of enthusiasts and professionals who wanted to provide a platform for contemporary art from around the world. The founders of France Conventions, a French family-run business, envisioned a space where artists, collectors, curators and the public could come together to discover and appreciate the latest trends and innovations in the art world. Over the past 25 years, ArtParis.com has become a respected and influential voice in the global art community, promoting emerging talent and fostering cultural exchange.
Art Paris is an international contemporary art fair that has been showcasing the latest and most exciting works of art for the past 25 years. Since its inception, Art Paris has been a hub for artists, collectors, curators and art enthusiasts from all over the world. This year, Art Paris celebrates its 25th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its history.
25 Years of Pushing Boundaries in the Art World
ArtParis.com was not only the world's first "physical" art fair post-lockdown in September 2020, but it also cemented its position as the pioneer by inaugurating the Temporary Grand Palais on the Champ-de-Marx in 2021. Also, in April 2022, it was the first to go with sustainable life-cycle approach to its organisation. The unwavering beliefs and dedicated pledges of this prominent spring arts occasion elevate its uniqueness and distinguish it from the rest on the art fair roster.
A fresh and renewed catalogue of exhibitors, enhanced by the success of its previous editions, the 2023 election pursues the fair’s evolution with 44 new galleries compared with the previous year and the continued presence of top-billed art dealers such as, Almine Rech, Templon and Nathalie Obadia or Kamel Mennour.
How could be easily expected, only 40% of the exhibitors are international, while the majority is kept for domestic galleries that will eventually showcase the entire French gallery ecosystem that include modern and contemporary galleries based all over the France. Notable exhibitors from previous years include galleries such as Dina Vierny, Catherine Putman and Derouillon, while Maia Muller making their debut appearance.
“An avant-garde art fair encourages exploration and aims to delve deeply into the world of modern and contemporary art”.
When considering other nations, the list has grown to include a few new names with Chilean gallery(AMS) as their inaugural participation, a Ugandan gallery (Afriart), a Lebanese gallery (Saleh Barakat Gallery) and a Romanian gallery (Gaep). Italy will be represented this year by two galleries: Francesca Minini (Milan) and Poggiali (Florence), Baronian (Brussels), Morocco with the Comptoir des Mines and Atelier 21, while Turkey will be represented by March Art Project and The Pill and Beijing by HdM Gallery.
Over the years, Art Paris has become known for its innovative exhibitions and diverse range of art, including paintings, sculptures, installations, photography and video art, setting out to explore in depth the world of modern and contemporary art.
As we look back on the past 25 years, we can see the impact that Art Paris has had on the art world, as well as the ways in which it continues to push boundaries and inspire new generations of artists.
