Whether by joining local running clubs or participating in community-organized events, such as the every Saturdays’s ParkRuns, the shared passion for staying active these people have, creates bonds that extend beyond the digital realm. The ParkRun route covers the scenic 5 kilometer distance from West Marina Gardens to Hastings Pier and back.

Alexandra Park Loop

Spanning along the park with a convenient lakeside route and extending to the seafront, it offers a straightforward and scenic 6.5-7 kilometer loop. Covering 44 hectares (109 acres) in the heart of the town, the park provides ample space for a balanced and invigorating run. The park route unfolds on a mix of terrains, seamlessly transitioning between trails and pavement, while presenting a gradual ascent as it heads northward through the town. This blend of varied landscapes adds an extra dimension to the exercise, making each run both stimulating and dynamic. The well-maintained paths provide runners with a mix of green landscapes and refreshing coastal views. The ease of navigation, coupled with the park's charm, makes it an appealing choice for those seeking a balanced and enjoyable run.

Glyne Gap Beach

The Glyne Gap Beach route is a great running path that goes from St Leonards along the seafront to Bexhill Road, then back to the Pier and The Old Town. One of our favorites! It's around 12 kilometers, just the right distance for a quick training session in a cool summer morning. The stretch toward Bexhill is indeed very nice with plenty of locals walking and running, especially in the warm season. People love this route for its mix of coastal views and a good workout.

The Glyne Gap route mainly consists of pavement with some pebbles along the way. It's a straightforward path that provides a mix of surfaces for runners to navigate.

The Seafront-Alexandra Park Route

The Seafront-Alexandra Park route is a beloved and diverse path, extending from St Leonards along the captivating seafront to the Pier and then ascending through the park toward Alexandra Park before retracing the same path. It has become a favorite among enthusiasts who appreciate its mix of terrains (due to the park), encompassing the charm of the seafront and the scenic beauty of the park. Covering a distance of approximately 16 kilometers, this route offers a substantial workout and a chance to immerse oneself in beautiful landscapes. While its length requires a bit more fitness, the varied terrain, coupled with the appealing distance, makes it a cherished choice for those seeking a fulfilling and well-rounded running experience. (And yes, we'll allow two favorites - variety is the spice of running routes!)

The Combined Route

The combined route, spanning from St Leonards along the seafront to Glyne Gap Beach in Bexhill, passing through Hastings Pier, and ascending through Alexandra Park before retracing the same path, offers a comprehensive and challenging running experience. This long route is about 20 kilometers and is great for people who are in good shape and like training for marathons. It goes through different types of ground, like the seafront, Glyne Gap Beach, Hastings Pier, and Alexandra Park. It's tough because it's a long way, but the mix of different landscapes and the beautiful views make it a popular choice for people who want a challenging and rewarding run.
