Conversation Galante: A Captivating Group Show at Pilar Corrias Gallery
Pilar Corrias presented Conversation Galante, a group exhibition of new and recent works featuring Nina Chanel Abney, Ana Benaroya, Katherine Bradford, France-Lise McGurn, Sofia Mitsola, GaHee Park, Henning Strassburger, and Didier William. Spanning both gallery spaces, the exhibit captures the essence of liberating joy and playful dialogue. Sofia Mitsola envisions a women-led island nation in Jalousie, while Ana Benaroya's vibrant world celebrates women breaking free.
Nina Chanel Abney's Last Scribble #4 portrays figures at ease during a picnic, and Didier William's Joy is Flight portrays genderless figures in a gravity-free zone. GaHee Park's Drowned Thought and Katherine Bradford's Stars in the Sea evoke intimacy under the night sky. The exhibition, inspired by Nicolas Lancret's Conversation Galante, offers an untamed garden where art thrives, echoing Nabokov's “aesthetic bliss”.
