The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is hosting an exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery for the third consecutive year. The exhibition will feature some of the finest botanical artwork and garden photography from artists around the world, all competing for an RHS medal. Prior to the opening of the show, entries undergo a rigorous pre-selection process in which their scientific accuracy, technical skill, and aesthetic appeal are evaluated by a panel of expert judges. Artists and photographers can receive RHS Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver, and Bronze medals, as well as a number of special awards such as ‘Best Botanical Art Exhibit’ and ‘Judge’s Special Award’.

In 2023, the RHS exhibition will feature a diverse range of subjects from artists all over the world. The exhibition will showcase ecologically significant plants such as English seaweed and Scottish lichens, Australian algae, endangered Korean plants, and Greek wildflowers. Heritage garden blooms will also be featured alongside images of delicious fruit and medicinal herbs.

This year's photography entries will include works from both amateur photographers and returning medal-winning exhibitors. The portfolios will showcase a variety of photographic styles and subjects ranging from RHS garden landscapes to gardeners working in peaceful harmony within Kyoto’s temple gardens. Former Gold medal-winning exhibitors will also have the opportunity to display their work alongside artists participating in the 2023 exhibition for the first time.

We are nature and art lovers ourselves and, we think it's great that RHS is providing a platform for artists to showcase their work and compete for medals. It's also interesting to see how they evaluate each entry based on scientific accuracy, technical skill and aesthetic appeal. We are excited to see what this year's exhibition has in store!
