Gucci Cosmos Exhibition | 180 Studios in London
Renowned contemporary artist Es Devlin has masterfully crafted an experience that transcends time. Curated by fashion theorist Maria Luisa Frisa, this unique showcase unveils era-defining pieces, weaving a captivating narrative of the House's heritage from 1921 to the present day.
As the 20th century unfolded, Guccio Gucci, a Florentine porter at London's The Savoy hotel, envisioned a future where luggage bore his name. Today, the GG monogram graces not only suitcases but an entire constellation of items crafted by the House he established in 1921.
At 180 Studios in London, just steps away from where Gucci's legacy began, Gucci Cosmos narrates the evolution of this vision. Initiated by a dream in the corridors of The Savoy, the exhibition delves into a multidimensional narrative reinterpreted over generations.
Drawing inspiration from cosmic revolutions, contemporary artist Es Devlin designs an immersive experience at 180 Studios. These immersive worlds highlight recurring themes in Gucci's history, with two new additions for the London exhibit. Curated by fashion theorist Maria Luisa Frisa, the showcase unveils treasures from the archive, many making their debut beyond its confines.
This unique context becomes a lens through which to journey into the Gucci story, starting in a recreated Savoy elevator, invoking the prologue, and culminating in Gucci Ancora—the latest chapter crafted by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno. Join this unique voyage through time and creativity.
Gucci Cosmos will be open from 11 October - 31 December 2023 at 180 Studios, 180 The Strand, London.
